Equipment Placements with Symbolic Line Representation

Korbel’s graphics staff populates the floor plan with our equipment icons (known in Revit as ‘families’), based on the equipment list for those rooms. In plan view, these appear as 2D icons, and have the equipment ID tags visible.

The image above shows the symbolic line drawing representation of the 3D full detail icons shown on the next page. All of our 3D icons also have 2D symbolic line representation in both plan and elevation views. This serves to enhance response time of the Revit program when these 3D views are not needed. The 3D full detail icons can also be used to create both plan and elevation documentation.

We have some projects where the architects are using AutoCAD. In these instances, our 2D equipment placements look similar to the image shown here.
