The project highlights expansions to two corners of the building including a large addition to the southeast.  The project elements include expansion and remodel of Imaging services, Surgery, Prep and Reocvery areas, Endoscopy, Sterile Processing, Dialysis, and Interventional Radiology.  A Pathology Lab is moving from another site to become integrated into the facility.  The new tower includes Inpatient Unit with 28 beds, plus shell space for another inpatient unit.  Public spaces are also getting remodeled including a Gift Shop and Outpatient Pharmacy. 

Korbel Associates scope kicked off in August 2013 with an inventory of existing equipment and budget development.  We held numerous rounds of user group planning meetings in conjunction with the design team over the following five months.  Korbel facilitated several high-level reviews with senior leadership to determine budget priorities for the project and strategize capital acquisitions for subsequent years.  We also coordinated with Essentia's purchasing group to integrate system-wide manufacturer & model standards into the planning.  

The construction team broke ground in the fall of 2013 and the first phase of the expansion is expected to be completed by January 2015.  Renovations to the existing facility will continue into November 2016.  For procurement support, Korbel created a schedule for purchase order issuance to coincide with the seven phases of new construction and renovations.
