Highlights

Mayo Clinic Health System - Cannon Falls is a critical access hospital located midway between the Twin Cities and Rochester, MN. The replacement hospital and clinic project offers primary and transitional care and long-term rehabilitation services, complementing the acute and quaternary care offered by the Rochester campus of the Mayo Clinic. Project elements incude: a 15 bed inpatient unit, a primary/specialty care clinic with 36 exam rooms, a five room emergency department, imaging suite, surgery suite with one operating room and one procedure room, outpatient rehabilitation, clinical laboratory, pharmacy, plus staff and support areas.

Korbel's service began in January 2012 with a complete equipment inventory of the existing campus. We held numerous rounds of user group planning meetings in conjunction with the design team over the following five months. Korbel facilitated several high-level reviews with senior leadership to determine budget priorities for the project and strategize capital acquisitions for subsequent years. We also coordinated with Mayo's purchasing group to integrate system-wide manufacturer & model standards into the planning. Upon completion of design and construction documents, Korbel Associates was hired to continue on with a full scope of procurement support services, which included some on-site coordination with the client's team. The facility had its grand opening in July 2014.
